ROYALTON CITY
ORDINANCE NO. 36
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING SALES
ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY
THE CITY HEREBY ORDAINS as follows:
SECTION 1. Definitions.
Subdivision 1. For the purpose of this ordinance the term sales shall apply to commercial sales of all merchandise.
SECTION 2. City Right-of-Way. City right-of-way shall mean the city’s portion of right—of—way all along Highway 10 within the city limits of Royalton and also along all the city’s right—of—way within one city block in any direction of Highway 10 in the City of Royalton.
SECTION 3. It shall be prohibited for any person or individual within the right—of—way of Highway 10 and within the right-of—way of one city block of Highway 10 in any direction to park a vehicle, trailer, stand or a structure of any kind or to simply stand with merchandise for sale in the right-of—way as described above in this ordinance.
SECTION 4. Penalty for Violation of Ordinance. A violation of this section is a petty misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $200.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This ordinance becomes effective upon the passage and publication of this ordinance and a notice of two successive weeks stating that printed copies are available at the office of the City Clerk.
