Jan. 9 It is reported there are twenty-five cases of influenza in town at the present time and that the dance last Friday evening was a factor in the sudden increase in the number of cases.

Feb. 13 The old Presbyterian Church is being tore down by local business man, Edward Stodlka, who will erect a residence on the site.
Feb. 13 The Commercial Hotel has a Fire. A large hole had been burned in the south side of the main roof and some to the joints of the second floor ceiling. Water damage is far greater. It is believed it was an electrical fire. Howard Kinney while one the roof with the fire hose slipped on ice and falling 20 feet severally breaking a leg.
Feb. 20 The Power and Light Company office catches on fire Friday night. The roof and ceiling where the wires are carried thru in pipes where ablaze but in short order the fire was out but the office was terribly scorched. The village was without electricity until the following day and the street lights, however, were not turned on until Tuesday.
Apr. 17 Last week a portion of the mystery surrounding the disappearance 20 years ago of a chest of carpenter’s tools was cleared up when the chest which had been sawn in two and the badly rusted tools came to light when the floor of the now completed razed former Commercial Hotel barn was torn up. The chest was the property of Wm. Whan.
Apr. 24 The Royalton Red Cross held a dinner for 29 soldiers and one sailor, all who have returned from fighting in France and a lady guest were given a dinner at the Commercial Hotel and later shown a free movie and a free dance was held.
June 5 Something that transpires seldom took place in Royalton on Tuesday when Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Lampert celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Over 300 people from near and far held a community picnic at the oak grove on the east bank of the Platte River, only a short distance from the iron bridge. The Royalton Military Band was present at the noon hour and local stores closed from twelve to one o’clock and the local schools closed from twelve until two o’clock. Many fine speeches were given in honor of the couple and their day.
June 19 An unusually large class of thirteen graduated from high school on June 13. 3 boys and 10 girls.

July 17 Dr. A.M. Watson has just added a fine new X-ray machine of the Transformer type to his office. This will aid him immensely.
Aug. 14 A deal was closed this week by which the Bourke Mercantile Company which has been in business here for five and one half years sold their mercantile stock to Peter Viehauser and Wm. Anderson of Elmdale.
Aug. 28 A. H. Vernon, Little Falls, will be here to help Royalton organize a Post of the American Legion.
Oct. 30 American Post # 137 has its first dance and elects its first officers.
Nov. 28 W.C. Dally, Banner publisher for six years has sold the paper to a local man, Leslie R. Lisle.
Dec. 4 An addition to the rear of the J. H. Inn has been completed and will be used for a candy and ice cream factory. Owner Mr. Friary has made ice cream in the past for his customers and the new building will give greater capacity.
