 Jan.11 Work of laying the water main across Platte River was completed Tuesday, the last to be done in installing the water system in the village.

Mar. 29 About twenty businessmen met at Hotel Royalton Tuesday evening and laid plans for the organization for a Commercial Club.

Apr. 5 A.J. Rau and George Monk went to Minneapolis and drove home two Fords for the Bell Motor Co., of this village.  Mr. Bell went down the first of the week and returned with a coupe which will be added to his stock of cars.

Apr. 12 J.R. Rudek has all the material on the ground for the construction of a new garage building on Front Street.  The new 50x70 building will have a two story front and a one story rear.  It is planned to extend the roof over the sidewalk to enclose the gasoline pump and air hose.

May 3 At a meeting of the city council an experienced traffic officer was employed to patrol the paved road, do constable duty and act as duty sheriff in the village.  Mr. Packard works on a salary of $135 a month and is furnished gasoline and oil for his personal motorcycle.

May 24 Seventeen local businessmen have clubbed together and purchased a camp site for tourists from Mrs. Graham.  The site includes five 50 foot lots located east of the stockyards and was purchased for $250.

May 31 The governor for the state of Minnesota, J.A.O. Preus, spoke at the Methodist Church Sunday evening, the occasion being a Memorial service.  A large crowd was present, many coming from Rice, Little Falls and Bowlus.

June 7 A class of eight graduates received their high school diplomas at commencement exercises held at the Palace Theatre Monday Evening.

June 7 The O.B. McClintock Co. is installing a burglar alarm in the First National Bank.  The system is constructed so that when the vault is entered after the time of closing the alarm is given.

June 14 Stodolka brothers, proprietors of Royalton Auto Repair Co., have leased the site south of the Graham block from Mrs. Belle Graham and will erect a modern filling station.

Aug 2 U.S. President Warren G. Harding dies.  The Governor of Minnesota asked that all public and private places be closed August 10, the day the President is laid to rest.  Calvin Coolidge will be the next President.

Aug. 9 The Stodolka airship was sold last week.  C.L. Stodolka plans to get a machine with higher power later.

Aug. 16 A cut of 6.6 in the price of gasoline was made Tuesday.  As a result gasoline was selling at noon at 17.4 cents in the village.

Aug. 16 The chemical fire truck, required by the state, will be ready for use in a few days.

Sept. 6 The dedication service of Holy Cross church at North Prairie Sunday afternoon was attended by a crowd estimated at two thousand people.  A conformation class of fifty-six children was also held.

Sept. 13 The Pike Rapids Power Co. will begin erection of a 42 foot dam on the Mississippi River at Pike Rapids.  The site is about four miles south of Little Falls.  Preliminary work will began this fall and actual construction to begin in the spring.

Sept. 27 Negotiations started a short time ago resulted in the purchase of the First National Bank of Royalton by the directors of the Farmers and Merchants State Bank.  The bank will be operated under a national charter and will be known as the First National Bank of Royalton.  When the consolidation of the two banks is completed Royalton will have the largest assets of any bank in Morrison County, outside of the city of Little Falls with totals of over a half million dollars.

Oct 18 The Episcopal Church will change the rectory into a Guild Hall.  An addition will be built at the east end of the church making the building ten feet longer.  Two memorial windows will be added as well new benches and kneelers.  The rectory will have a 16 foot addition making the hall 16x40 structure when completed, with a kitchen in the rear and basement that will house a furnace.

Nov. 1 A crew of about 15 men has begun the preliminary work on the dam to be located on the Soo line bridge on the Mississippi River.

Nov. 8 One hundred and twenty-eight young people were confirmed Thursday afternoon at Holy Trinity Church. The class was the largest ever confirmed at a local church.

Dec. 27 The first ever community Christmas tree party saw 400 local school age children at the Palace Theatre where they enjoyed a movie and afterwards Santa Claus passed out packages of candy and nuts.
