Jan. 22 Saturday morning an eclipse of the sun will occur at eight o’clock and this section will be treated with an experience which comes to any place but once in several centuries.

Mar. 5 The Presidential inaugural address was received yesterday over the radio and every receiving set in the village got the words for the President distinctly.

Mar. 19 Change made in rate of postage.  The old rate on registered mail was ten cents.  It has been raised to fifteen cents with a three cent extra charge for returned delivery mail.

Apr. 2 A club known at the Royalton club, has been formed by former residents of Royalton who now live in Minneapolis and St. Paul.  The club has 100 members, and only former Royaltonites are eligible.

Apr. 2 Wm. Yahn, manager of the Jefferson Highway Garage, will open a restroom for tourists in the former office rooms of the garage.  The rooms will be equipped for the accommodations of tourists and toys will be supplied for children past time.

Apr. 9 Postmaster H.M. Logan has leased the rooms formerly occupied by the Farmers and Merchants State Bank.  The new location more centrally located in the business section and the vault in the building will be convenient for storing government records.

Apr. 16 Postmaster H.M. Logan will move the post office to its new home this afternoon.  The mail boxes will be moved this evening.  Deliveries will start tomorrow from its new location.

June 11 Preparations are being made to welcome a large number of old residents of Royalton who have moved away during the past thirty to forty years, but who are to unite again at the Grand 4th July Celebration and homecoming July 4th and 5th.

June 11 A large crowd attended the commencement exercise Saturday at the Palace Theatre Friday evening when a class of twelve received their high school diplomas.

July 9 It is believed that over 800 people witnesses the baseball game between 1900 and 1910 teams.  The day saw horse races, a large parade, with games for children in the afternoon and a dance at the Palace that saw the floor taxed to capacity.  Sunday a picnic was held on the south end of town, where a large crowd gathered and visited with old and new friends.

July 16 After five years in business, S.C. Lodermeir, has sold his confectionery store to H.J. Meyer.

Sept. 17 Businessmen of Royalton have arranged with W.H. Gilmer, of the Palace Theatre, to give another series of free shows beginning Wednesday.  Two shows will be given each Wednesday for the next two months.

Sept. 17 Burglars broke a south window and entered H.J. Meyer confectionery last night and stole a slot machine.  Nothing else was taken.

Sept. 24 The Albrecht Grain Co. elevator was badly damaged by fire which started in the cupola.  The 10x34 cupola on ten foot posts was covered in steel which made it almost impossible to fight the fire.  That part of the building was completely destroyed but when it fell the large volume of water from three nozzles held the main part of the elevator in tact.   It is believed that the whole building will have to be torn down.

Oct. 29 No time was wasted in erecting the grain elevator for Albrecht Grain co. Work was started on Oct. 13 and unless weather prevents the elevator will receive grain the last of the week.  The building is 18 feet higher then the one damage by fire and is being equipped with the latest machinery.  A steel iron roofing and siding is being used.

Nov. 12 The fortieth anniversary of Grace Guild was celebrated at the Bennett Hall on the evening of November 5.  The church, Grace Episcopal, was built five years before the Guild was organized.

Nov. 26 The state has renamed the Jefferson Highway to U.S. Highway Ten.
